Pearl (PEARL) Climbs to $2.43 Near All-Time High on Coinbase Roadmap Buzz

By MABOnChain Desk · Published · Updated · 4 min read

Editorial digital-art illustration in the CoinTelegraph style: a luminous pearl rising like a moon over a futuristic AI computing landscape, glowing graphics-processor chips and matrix-grid calculations flowing beneath it, a golden price chart line climbing steeply toward a new all-time high, silhouetted traders watching the ascent from a dark trading floor, deep navy night palette with gold and teal highlights, cinematic painterly lighting, dramatic 16:9 composition, no text.

Published October 22, 2026, 9:55 AM PKT. Based on CoinGecko trending and market data retrieved October 22, 2026 (primary source), and reporting by CryptoNews on October 21, 2026, TokenPost on October 20 and October 22, 2026, Blockonomi and Parameter in October 2026, and Odaily, compiling Datawallet, in October 2026 (secondary sources). Some earlier coverage refers to the token as PRL; CoinGecko lists the trending token as PEARL, and this article uses PEARL throughout.

Pearl (PEARL) traded at $2.43 on October 22, 2026, sitting just below its all-time high of $2.46 set on October 21, according to CoinGecko data. The token ranked third on CoinGecko trending searches at the time of writing, behind Aerodrome Finance and Pudgy Penguins, and ahead of Bitcoin, NEAR Protocol and Zcash. PEARL gained about 10.8% in 24 hours, about 37.8% in seven days and about 147.4% in 30 days, with a market capitalization of about $858 million and 24-hour trading volume of about $17.3 million, CoinGecko data showed. The token is not listed on Binance spot, so the CoinGecko figures are the market reference for this article.

The rally in numbers: $2.43, just under a $2.46 record

The move is the latest leg of a run that began from far lower levels. CoinGecko data puts PEARL's all-time low at about $0.14, recorded on July 23, 2026, which means the token has risen roughly 17 times from that low to its current price. TokenPost reported PEARL at $2.39, up 20.74% over 24 hours, in a snapshot published at 01:46 UTC on October 22, with a market capitalization of about $847 million and a market-cap rank of 84. TokenPost had already reported PEARL above $2 on October 20, with an 82.2% monthly gain at the time, and CryptoNews reported on October 21 that the token had climbed to $2.27 with a 16.3% seven-day gain, recovering from lows near $1.67 on October 17 before accelerating above $2.20 on October 21.

The supply picture frames how much of the run is already priced in. CoinGecko lists about 353.5 million PEARL in circulation against a total and maximum supply of 2.1 billion tokens, so roughly one sixth of the eventual supply is circulating. That gap matters because, as the skepticism section below notes, roughly 305 million more tokens are scheduled to arrive over the next 12 months, a flow nearly as large as the current circulating supply.

The Coinbase roadmap catalyst

The proximate trigger is Coinbase's asset-listing roadmap. CryptoNews reported that Coinbase added Pearl (PEARL), Axis Labs (AXIS) and Stable (STABLE) to its listing roadmap on October 19, while TokenPost's October 20 report dated the addition to October 20. A roadmap addition is not a listing: it signals that Coinbase is considering the asset for future support, and traders treat it as a visibility and access catalyst, CryptoNews noted. The distinction matters because the rally began before any confirmed listing, and no listing date has been announced in the reporting reviewed for this article.

Attention data backs up the buzz. TokenPost's October 22 snapshot had PEARL leading a search ranking at 10:05 a.m. ET on October 21, and its October 21 report had PEARL topping the Korean trending list at $2.35, up 19.66% over 24 hours, while IOST led the global list. CryptoNews framed the open question directly: whether Coinbase speculation is driving the rally, or whether Pearl's AI-computing narrative is attracting a fresh wave of buyers on its own merits.

What Pearl actually is: GPU miners doing AI math

Pearl launched in April 2026 as an independent blockchain, according to TokenPost. Its design, described by Blockonomi, Parameter and Odaily, starts from Bitcoin's codebase but replaces hash-based proof-of-work puzzles with matrix multiplication, the arithmetic at the heart of AI models, performed on graphics processing units. Miners earn PRL/PEARL for that work, and the design is backed by published cryptographic research, Odaily noted, with Together AI named as its only production-grade partner. In plain terms, the pitch is useful proof-of-work: the energy spent securing the chain also produces computations AI systems need, rather than hashes with no outside use.

The pitch has found a market in 2026. Blockonomi reported PEARL touched $2.10 on October 14, up 228% from about $0.59 in mid-September and roughly seven times its August level near $0.28, while Odaily reported the token briefly above $2 on October 15 with a circulating market capitalization near $700 million and a gain of as much as 600% over two months. That history is why the current $2.43 level, near the October 21 record, reads as a continuation of a months-long repricing rather than a single-day spike.

The skepticism: missing AI code and a heavy supply schedule

The rally carries two documented counterweights. First, researcher Abhinaba Basu found that the main mining software contained no AI code and that junk data could still earn mining rewards, according to Blockonomi and Parameter. Odaily, compiling Datawallet, added that an independent study found most mining does not produce AI results, and that more than one-third of existing supply was mined within the first six days. Second, about 305 million more tokens are due over the next 12 months, nearly doubling the current supply, Blockonomi and Parameter reported, with Odaily putting about 332 million tokens mined as of October 2, 2026.

Neither finding has stopped the price from rising, but both set the terms of the debate. If the AI-computing claim is the fundamental case for PEARL, the code findings challenge it directly, and the supply schedule means buyers at $2.43 are paying a record price ahead of a large wave of new issuance. Supporters can point to the roadmap attention and the months-long uptrend; skeptics can point to the same supply and code questions that were already public when the token was below $0.30.

What to watch next

Three markers decide whether this leg holds. The first is Coinbase itself: a full listing announcement would convert roadmap speculation into confirmed access, while a long silence would leave the rally running on attention alone. The second is the $2.46 record: holding above it would confirm a new range, while a rejection would mark the third time in a week the token has knocked on record territory. The third is the supply calendar: the pace at which the scheduled issuance reaches the market will test whether demand at these prices can absorb it. Until one of those markers resolves, PEARL is a momentum story with a live fundamental dispute attached, and that dispute, not the price alone, is what traders are actually betting on.

Solana Alpenglow Goes Live on Mainnet in Biggest Consensus Switch Since Launch

October 21, 2026 · 4 min read

Solana has activated Alpenglow, its first major consensus upgrade, on mainnet on October 21, 2026, replacing the TowerBFT voting system it has used since launch with a new protocol called Votor that targets transaction finality in about 150 milliseconds, down from roughly 12.8 seconds. CryptoBreaking, citing the Solana Foundation Alpenglow dashboard, put activation at about 1:54 pm UTC, in epoch 1064, while the dashboard reading at press time showed finality of about 6.6 seconds and throughput of about 4,721 transactions per second, a reminder that the 150 millisecond figure is a target to converge toward, not an instant day one measurement. The second Alpenglow phase, Rotor, which would replace the Turbine block propagation system, does not activate with Votor and remains unscheduled.

October 21, 2026 · 5 min read

The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has issued the first final rule implementing the GENIUS Act, setting reserve, redemption and capital standards for payment stablecoin issuers under its jurisdiction, effective January 18, 2027. Issuers must hold reserves at least equal to their outstanding stablecoins and generally redeem within two business days, while the agency dropped a proposed presumption that affiliate rewards deals violate the law's yield ban, leaving existing rewards programs to case-by-case review. The rule covers national banks, federal savings associations, federal branches and nonbank firms seeking federal qualified issuer status, with a $5 million capital floor, while anti-money-laundering rules will follow in separate rulemaking with the Treasury.

Aave Backs Tokenized SpaceX Shares as Collateral With Strict Guardrails Ahead of 2.43 Billion Share Unlock

October 21, 2026 · 5 min read

Aave risk adviser LlamaRisk has backed listing tokenized SpaceX shares, trading as SPCXc, as collateral on Aave V4's Equities Hub on Base, but only under the hub's toughest terms: a 55% collateral factor, a 6.5% maximum liquidation bonus, a 1,000 basis point risk premium and a 37,000 token supply cap worth about $5.8 million. The caution reflects SpaceX's four months of public trading history and a lock-up calendar that releases 2.43 billion shares, 84% of the current float, between October 26 and December 8, 2026. SPCXc would be collateral-only, with USDC the only borrowable asset, and larger liquidations would depend on redemptions or derivatives hedges because onchain depth is thin.

The appeal keeps alive the victims' bid to claim a share of a stash worth about 3.8 billion pounds, after the original ruling said their claims must be tested under Chinese law rather than English property law. Lawyers at the follow-up hearing also discussed litigation costs from the earlier dispute and how individual applicants can continue or withdraw their claims.
