Binance Reopens Withdrawals for Third Batch of Tokens in Recovery Update #8

By MABOnChain Desk · Published · Updated · 4 min read

Editorial digital-art illustration in the CoinTelegraph style: a large cryptocurrency exchange vault with its heavy doors swinging open, streams of glowing coins and tokens flowing out along six branching blockchain pathways toward users waiting with open wallets, a security checkpoint gate with a green checkmark shield in the foreground, dramatic comic-book ink shading, halftone dots, deep navy and charcoal tones with gold and teal neon highlights, 16:9 wide composition.

Published November 5, 2026, 10:45 AM PKT. Based on Binance Security Incident Recovery Update #8, published November 5, 2026, as tracked by CompareCEX (primary announcement) and as reported by TrustsCrypto and CoinByte on November 5, 2026 (secondary reporting), plus Binance Recovery Update #7, published November 4, 2026, as tracked by CompareCEX (prior position on replenishment and proof of reserves).

Binance has begun reopening withdrawals for a third batch of tokens under its Security Incident Recovery Update #8, published at 03:04 UTC on November 5, 2026, with the rollout starting progressively at 04:00 UTC, or 09:00 AM PKT, across six blockchain networks. The batch covers 69 network and asset pairs on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Base, TRON, Polygon and SUI, and it is the next concrete step in restoring access after the October 29 security incident in which about $6.3 billion in cryptocurrency was taken from the exchange's hot wallets. The rollout is progressive, not simultaneous, which is the detail that matters most for users checking a specific coin: Binance says each network and asset pair opens only as its security and readiness checks finish, so a token named in the update may still show as unavailable for a time, and users are told to check the withdrawal page or the exchange's network status page for their exact pair.

The November 5 batch: six networks, 69 pairs

On Ethereum, withdrawals reopen for $UNI, $AAVE, $PAXG, $VIRTUAL, $MORPHO, $ZAMA, $YFI, $WLFI, $COMP, $LPT, $NMR, $SAHARA, $EIGEN, $LDO, $EPIC, $SAND, $HYPER, $EUL, $OPEN, $ENS, $ANKR, $ID, $APE, $AUCTION, $RED, $ARKM, $MANA, $BIGTIME, $G, $ZKP, $CYBER, $F, $AXL, $FLOKI, $GRT and $SYN. On BNB Smart Chain, the batch covers $ASTER, $PROM, $UNI, $1MBABYDOGE, $FIL, $IOTA, $GENIUS, $BANK, $MARSCOIN, $ZIL, $TUT, $TWT, $DEXE, $MUBARAK, $FLOKI, $INJ, $NIGHT, $HOME, $HYPER, $AAVE, $AVAX, $AT, $BREV and $SAND. On Base, the reopening covers $AERO, $VIRTUAL, $MORPHO and $AVNT. On TRON, it covers $JST, $SUN and $BTTC. On Polygon, it covers $GNS, and on SUI, it covers $MMT. Several tokens appear on more than one network, so the 69 figure counts network and asset pairs, not 69 distinct tokens, and holders should confirm the network, not just the token name, before attempting a withdrawal. Binance says it prioritized the batch by user demand measured over the past week, the same demand based method it used for the earlier phases, and that more assets will be added as they become ready.

What Update #8 does not change

Update #8 is a withdrawal reopening notice, and it does not update the money figures. It gives no new replenishment percentage and no new proof of reserves snapshot, so the last stated position still comes from Recovery Update #7, published November 4, 2026: about 98% of the affected amount replenished, with a new proof of reserves snapshot taken at 00:00 UTC on November 4 covering 44 tokens, up from 10 in the earlier snapshot. The full zero knowledge proof that lets holders of those 44 tokens verify their own balances was expected to take about 50 to 60 hours from November 4, so self verification for the wider token set was still pending when Update #8 was published, and readers should not treat the wider snapshot as already fully verifiable. Deposits were not affected at any point during the incident and remained open throughout, according to the recovery updates, and Binance repeats in Update #8 that it will absorb the financial impact of the stolen funds, not its users. No timeline for full restoration across all assets is given in Update #8, and no changes to trading, conversion or other platform functions are announced in it.

Where this sits in the recovery sequence

The sequence explains why this batch matters even though it is the third, not the first. Withdrawals began reopening in phases on November 1, starting with 15 networks and the largest assets, including Bitcoin ($BTC), Ethereum ($ETH) and major stablecoins, after Binance said it had covered about 95% of the impacted amount. A second batch followed on November 3 under Recovery Update #6, covering more assets on BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, Solana ($SOL), XRP ($XRP), SUI ($SUI), Arbitrum, Optimism, TRON and Base. Update #7 on November 4 then moved the money story forward, to 98% replenished and a wider proof of reserves snapshot, but gave no new withdrawal list. Update #8 now moves the access story forward again, for the smaller and mid sized tokens that had remained locked while the headline assets reopened. During the rollout, Binance warns, withdrawals may be delayed or take longer because of traffic, and if a withdrawal fails, users are asked to retry after a short while. That warning, plus the progressive rollout, means the practical test of Update #8 is not the announcement time but whether each named pair actually opens during November 5.

The incident behind the recovery

The recovery updates all trace back to the October 29 incident, which Binance has described in its initial investigation as starting with a compromised DevOps engineer's laptop that gave an attacker access to a service container, from which unauthorized withdrawal transactions were submitted. Binance has said there is no evidence of a wallet private key leak, that about $3 billion of the stolen funds was frozen on chain through coordination with blockchain partners, and that a full technical post incident report is still pending. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation attributed the attack on October 31 to North Korea linked TraderTraitor operatives, according to earlier reporting on the incident. None of those points is updated by Update #8, and the pending items remain the same: the full post incident report, the completed zero knowledge proof for the 44 token snapshot, and a date for full withdrawal restoration across all remaining assets.

Trump Media Moves 4,259 Bitcoin ($BTC) to Crypto.com From Convertible Note Collateral Wallets

November 5, 2026 · 4 min read

Wallets linked to Trump Media and Technology Group moved about 4,259 Bitcoin ($BTC), worth roughly $342 million, to Crypto.com in two batches on November 5, 2026, according to Arkham data reported by CoinDesk. The coins came from wallets labeled as 2028 convertible note collateral, and the move lands weeks before November 30, when holders of the company's convertible notes can require repayment of potentially about $1 billion, according to a November 2 filing. The transfer does not prove a sale: Trump Media has previously described similar moves to Crypto.com as trading or custody management, not sales, and CoinDesk reported no company comment on this transfer as of writing.

Uniswap ($UNI) Jumps 7% as SEC Governance Guidance Eases Fears and Bitcoin Rebound Lifts Altcoins

November 5, 2026 · 5 min read

Uniswap ($UNI) traded near $7.70 on November 5, 2026, up about 7% over 24 hours, after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's staff said on November 2 that unaffiliated governance voters are generally not a central party, easing a years-old regulatory overhang on governance tokens. The move, which put Uniswap ($UNI) on CoinGecko's trending list, came as Bitcoin ($BTC) rebounded and as Uniswap marked its eighth anniversary, with its VolatilePair Hook now live on Robinhood Chain and its Token Jar system launched October 29. The guidance is staff opinion, not a rule, and it does not classify Uniswap ($UNI) or any token as a commodity, so the regulatory question is narrowed, not settled.

South Korea Orders Full Inspections of 580 Financial Firms After 473,000 Records Leak

November 5, 2026 · 4 min read

South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) has ordered full inspections of about 580 financial companies and warned chief executives they will be held personally accountable for poor security, after 37 firms reported 40 breach incidents between September 30 and November 3, 2026 that leaked about 473,000 personal records and saw about 1 billion won, roughly $740,000, stolen. The measures were finalized at an all-sector meeting on November 5, 2026 chaired by FSC Chairman Lee Eok-won. Three virtual asset operators were among the affected firms, and hot wallet assets held mainly by small virtual asset exchanges were among the stolen funds, so crypto platforms are inside the inspection net, not outside it. Registered systems must be inspected by November 30 and unregistered systems and internal controls by the end of the year.

Canton Strategic Completes First Tokenized U.S. Stock Trade Under SEC Innovation Exemption

November 5, 2026 · 4 min read

Canton Strategic Holdings (NASDAQ: CNTN) has completed the first trades of its issuer-sponsored tokenized common stock under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Innovation Exemption, the company announced November 4, 2026. The trades ran November 4 on TSV LLC, the permissioned venue for tokenized stocks on the Canton Network, through a permissioned pool on Tradecraft, the automated market maker protocol that powers the venue. Existing shareholder Five North sold tokenized shares to DRW Cumberland, with Flowdesk providing liquidity and Fairmint TA LLC, an SEC-registered transfer agent, recording the shares in token form. CryptoBriefing put the first trade at about 14,461 shares for roughly $30,296, or about $2.08 per share. The tokenized shares carry the same rights as the stock traded on Nasdaq, and settlement was atomic on the Canton Network, meaning shares and payment moved together or not at all.
