Trump Media Moves 4,259 Bitcoin ($BTC) to Crypto.com From Convertible Note Collateral Wallets

Editorial digital-art illustration in the CoinTelegraph style: a gleaming corporate treasury vault opening to release a stream of large golden bitcoin coins flowing toward a modern crypto exchange building, a sealed loan contract document with a wax seal and chains symbolizing collateral in the foreground, silhouetted business towers and a candlestick chart rising behind, dramatic comic-book ink shading, halftone dots, deep navy and charcoal tones with gold and teal neon highlights, 16:9 wide composition.

Published November 5, 2026, 10:20 AM PKT. Based on Arkham blockchain data as reported by CoinDesk on November 5, 2026 (primary onchain data), Trump Media and Technology Group's second quarter filing and its November 2, 2026 securities filing as reported by CoinDesk (primary filings), and Lookonchain tracking as reported by PANews on November 5, 2026 (secondary onchain corroboration).

Wallets linked to Trump Media and Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, moved about 4,259 Bitcoin ($BTC), worth roughly $342 million, to Crypto.com on November 5, 2026, according to Arkham data reported by CoinDesk. The transfer is large enough to matter on its own, about 30% of the roughly 14,139 Bitcoin ($BTC) the company said it held, including pledged coins, as of July 31, 2026, but the figure that makes it a story is where the coins came from. The source wallets were labeled as 2028 convertible note collateral, and the move lands less than four weeks before November 30, when holders of those notes can require the company to buy them back, potentially for about $1 billion if every holder exercises that right. The transfer does not prove a sale, and that distinction runs through everything that follows: an exchange deposit can precede a sale, a custody change, a collateral restructuring, or an internal transfer, and Trump Media has previously described similar moves to Crypto.com as trading or custody management rather than sales.

The transfer: 4,259 coins in two batches

CoinDesk, citing Arkham, reported the coins moved in two nearly equal batches at 02:17 UTC on November 5, 2026. The first batch sent 2,140.03 Bitcoin ($BTC) and the second sent 2,119.31 Bitcoin ($BTC), both to the same destination address, labeled in Arkham's data with the prefix 34jvU and reported as owned by Crypto.com. PANews, citing Lookonchain monitoring, independently reported the same 4,259 coin total to Crypto.com on November 5, putting the value at about $343.67 million, a figure consistent with CoinDesk's roughly $342 million summary at Bitcoin ($BTC) prices near $80,400 at the time. CoinDesk said it reached out to Trump Media for comment on the transfer and its coin stash and had received no response as of writing. No filing from the company confirming a sale, a custody change, or a collateral move had appeared as of writing, so the reason for the transfer is unconfirmed, and Arkham's wallet labels, while consistent with the company's filings, do not by themselves explain why the coins moved.

The collateral question: why the wallets matter

The source wallets matter because the coins in them were not freely disposable in the company's own filings. Trump Media's second quarter filing said 4,260.73 Bitcoin ($BTC) was being used as collateral for its convertible notes as of June 30, 2026, with withdrawals or distributions of those coins restricted under the loan indenture, according to CoinDesk. The 4,259 coins moved on November 5 are close to that pledged figure, and Arkham's labels line up with the arrangement, but the two numbers are not identical and the filing figure is dated June 30, so readers should not treat the transfer as proof that the entire collateral pile moved, or that the collateral arrangement has changed. What can be said is narrower and still significant: coins that the company itself described as restricted collateral in June are now sitting at an address reported as belonging to Crypto.com, an exchange that has served as one of the firm's custody partners since it launched its Bitcoin ($BTC) treasury strategy. Whether that reflects a permitted collateral move, a custody reshuffle, or preparation for a sale is not established by the onchain data, and the company has not said.

The November 30 deadline hanging over the move

The calendar gives the transfer its urgency. According to a November 2, 2026 securities filing reported by CoinDesk, holders of Trump Media's convertible notes can require repayment on November 30, 2026, potentially forcing the company to pay roughly $1 billion if all holders exercise that right. The filing warned that if refinancing or other measures prove insufficient, Trump Media may have to sell Bitcoin ($BTC) or other digital assets to fund the repurchases. That warning does not mean this transfer is such a sale, and the timing alone does not prove intent, but it does explain why the market is watching every large movement from the company's wallets this month. The older holdings figure also needs a caution flag: the roughly 14,139 Bitcoin ($BTC) total, including pledged coins, dates to July 31, 2026, so it does not prove the company's current holdings, and the 30% comparison is a scale marker against that older disclosure, not a current balance sheet.

A pattern, not a first: May and August transfers

This is the third large Trump Media transfer to Crypto.com reported this year, and the company's own explanations for the earlier two cut against reading an exchange deposit as an automatic sale. In May 2026, wallets linked to Trump Media moved about 2,650 Bitcoin ($BTC), roughly $205 million at the time, to Crypto.com, and a company spokesperson told CoinDesk at the time that the firm transferred, but did not sell, the coins as part of its broader trading strategy. In early August 2026, another 2,628 Bitcoin ($BTC), about $165 million, went to the same platform, and the company said that transfer was for custody management and was not a sale, according to CoinDesk. Onchain watchers quoted by CoinDesk struck the same cautious note on this transfer: EyeOnChain wrote that a transfer to an exchange or custodian does not automatically mean the Bitcoin ($BTC) is being sold, that it could be a custody move or something else entirely, while adding that $343 million worth of Bitcoin ($BTC) moving is not something the market will ignore. That is the honest summary of the position as of writing: a very large, collateral labeled transfer to an exchange, weeks before a major repayment date, with no company explanation yet and no evidence of a sale.

Uniswap ($UNI) Jumps 7% as SEC Governance Guidance Eases Fears and Bitcoin Rebound Lifts Altcoins

November 5, 2026 · 5 min read

Uniswap ($UNI) traded near $7.70 on November 5, 2026, up about 7% over 24 hours, after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's staff said on November 2 that unaffiliated governance voters are generally not a central party, easing a years-old regulatory overhang on governance tokens. The move, which put Uniswap ($UNI) on CoinGecko's trending list, came as Bitcoin ($BTC) rebounded and as Uniswap marked its eighth anniversary, with its VolatilePair Hook now live on Robinhood Chain and its Token Jar system launched October 29. The guidance is staff opinion, not a rule, and it does not classify Uniswap ($UNI) or any token as a commodity, so the regulatory question is narrowed, not settled.

South Korea Orders Full Inspections of 580 Financial Firms After 473,000 Records Leak

November 5, 2026 · 4 min read

South Korea's Financial Services Commission (FSC) has ordered full inspections of about 580 financial companies and warned chief executives they will be held personally accountable for poor security, after 37 firms reported 40 breach incidents between September 30 and November 3, 2026 that leaked about 473,000 personal records and saw about 1 billion won, roughly $740,000, stolen. The measures were finalized at an all-sector meeting on November 5, 2026 chaired by FSC Chairman Lee Eok-won. Three virtual asset operators were among the affected firms, and hot wallet assets held mainly by small virtual asset exchanges were among the stolen funds, so crypto platforms are inside the inspection net, not outside it. Registered systems must be inspected by November 30 and unregistered systems and internal controls by the end of the year.

Canton Strategic Completes First Tokenized U.S. Stock Trade Under SEC Innovation Exemption

November 5, 2026 · 4 min read

Canton Strategic Holdings (NASDAQ: CNTN) has completed the first trades of its issuer-sponsored tokenized common stock under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Innovation Exemption, the company announced November 4, 2026. The trades ran November 4 on TSV LLC, the permissioned venue for tokenized stocks on the Canton Network, through a permissioned pool on Tradecraft, the automated market maker protocol that powers the venue. Existing shareholder Five North sold tokenized shares to DRW Cumberland, with Flowdesk providing liquidity and Fairmint TA LLC, an SEC-registered transfer agent, recording the shares in token form. CryptoBriefing put the first trade at about 14,461 shares for roughly $30,296, or about $2.08 per share. The tokenized shares carry the same rights as the stock traded on Nasdaq, and settlement was atomic on the Canton Network, meaning shares and payment moved together or not at all.

Binance Says 98% of Stolen Assets Replenished as Proof of Reserves Expands to 44 Tokens

November 5, 2026 · 4 min read

Binance says it has replenished about 98% of the assets affected by its October 29 security incident, up from 95% in its November 2 update, and has expanded its proof of reserves to cover 44 tokens, up from 10, according to Recovery Update #7 published November 4, 2026. The exchange says it has set aside more than 100% of the funds needed from its own resources and will bear the full losses itself, not its users. A new proof of reserves snapshot taken at 00:00 UTC on November 4 covers 44 tokens, but the full zero knowledge proof that lets users verify their own balances will take about 50 to 60 hours to generate, so self verification for the wider token set is still pending. The remaining 2% consists of less liquid tokens Binance is still buying through market and over the counter channels, with no completion date given.
