Upbit and Bithumb End Zilliqa (ZIL) Trading Support; Upbit Delists Sophon (SOPH) on November 16

Editorial digital-art illustration in the CoinTelegraph style: two cracked golden cryptocurrency coins stamped with a red DELISTED seal tumbling off a glowing digital exchange order book, red candlesticks collapsing on a dark trading screen, a hazy Seoul skyline with a traditional Korean palace gate silhouette in the background, deep reds and indigo night tones, dramatic cinematic lighting, 16:9 wide composition.

Published October 16, 2026, 23:50 PKT. Based on Upbit's official trading-support termination notices posted October 15-16, 2026 (primary source, via @Official_Upbit), secondary reporting by PANews, TradingView News/coinmarketcal, Pluang, bitcoinsistemi and COINOTAG through October 16, 2026, and Finnhub public market data for the ZIL and SOPH spot pairs.

Upbit, South Korea's largest crypto exchange, announced on October 16, 2026 that it will end all trading support for Zilliqa's ZIL token at 15:00 KST on November 16, 2026. The same announcement cycle ended trading support for Sophon (SOPH), whose KRW, BTC and USDT pairs will close on November 16. Bithumb, the country's second-largest exchange, separately announced it will also end ZIL trading support, without naming a date, and extended the delisting watchlist review for MANTRA. The twin removals cut ZIL's retail trading access in South Korea to nearly zero on the country's two biggest venues.

Upbit ends ZIL support November 16

Upbit's notice said ZIL had been designated a trading caution asset on July 22, 2026, and that the issues behind the designation were never resolved, according to the announcement quoted by TradingView News and coinmarketcal. The termination schedule posted by @Official_Upbit set the cutoff at 2026-11-16 15:00 KST, with unfilled orders to be cancelled in a unified manner. Upbit is one of ZIL's main exchange markets, so the removal leaves holders with one fewer major venue for the token, TradingView News said. Holders exiting before the deadline create strong selling pressure on ZIL ahead of the cutoff, the report added.

SOPH support stops November 16, withdrawals until December 16

Trading support for Sophon (SOPH) will be terminated at 14:00 Beijing time on November 16, involving the SOPH/KRW, SOPH/BTC and SOPH/USDT trading pairs, according to PANews' report on the Upbit announcement published October 15. Upbit said the project has deficiencies in the disclosure of material matters, changes to its circulation plan and the transparency of related procedures, and that the reasons for its earlier designation as a trading caution asset have not yet been resolved. Withdrawal support for SOPH will continue until December 16. Pluang reported that SOPH dropped more than 20% on October 15 as the delisting news spread. Separately, a COINOTAG terminal entry dated October 15 said Bithumb will also delist SOPH.

Bithumb ends ZIL support, extends MANTRA review

Bithumb announced that ZIL, which functions as the Zilliqa network's governance token, will come off its platform, but the exchange's notice did not disclose the date its ZIL markets will close, leaving Korean traders without an exact deadline on that venue, COINOTAG reported on October 16. The same announcement cycle produced a different outcome for MANTRA: Bithumb extended the trading caution designation for MANTRA, which means the evaluation of that token continues rather than ending in removal, per cryptocycleindex and bitcoinsistemi. Extending the watchlist period is not a delisting, but it keeps the asset under review while the exchange gathers what it needs to decide.

ZIL falls 22% as Korean exits close

Finnhub market data on October 16 showed ZIL trading at $0.002548, down 22.6% from its previous close of $0.003292, with a market capitalization of $317.2 million. COINOTAG's live monitoring showed ZIL down roughly 14.5% over the past 24 hours as the dual delisting news spread. SOPH traded at $0.00237, down 4.82% on the day, per Finnhub, after the steep drop that followed Upbit's October 15 announcement. For Korean holders the practical effect arrives in stages: the ability to place standard order types in ZIL disappears on Upbit on November 16, and on Bithumb whenever that venue sets its cutoff.
