Visa Direct Moves USDC Payout Funding From Pilot to Commercial Production

Based on Visa's BusinessWire announcement (primary), "Visa Direct Launches Stablecoin-Powered Money Movement as Pilots Move to Production," published October 15, 2026, and secondary reporting by The Block, cryptonews.net, PaySpace Magazine and TradingView News on October 16, 2026.
Visa announced on October 15, 2026 that Visa Direct's stablecoin capabilities have moved from the pilot stage to commercial deployment, according to its release carried on BusinessWire out of San Francisco. The announcement marks the shift of the stablecoin-enabled features Visa Direct had been testing in pilots into live, production-grade money-movement infrastructure that clients and partners can now adopt.
The first live rail: Inyo Global
Payments infrastructure provider Inyo Global is the first enabler to go live, the release said. Inyo integrated Visa Direct's stablecoin-enabled prefunding into its platform, so eligible businesses can prefund cross-border payouts with USDC in near real time instead of relying only on traditional funding windows, per The Block's reporting. Through a single connection, Inyo's platform lets businesses onboard users, manage fraud and compliance, accept payments, and send domestic and international payouts across more than 180 countries via Visa Direct, with the USDC prefunding available through Inyo's existing APIs, subject to eligibility and geographic restrictions.
Inyo Global co-founder and Chief Product and Technology Officer Robson Dantas said the integration gives money transmitters, fintechs and payment companies "a new way to fund their payouts, one that is available around the clock and runs through the same Inyo APIs they already use." Vira Platonova, Global Head of Visa Direct, said "The next chapter for stablecoins is adoption," adding that partner pilots over recent years are now translating into live implementations, per PaySpace Magazine.
From 2025 pilots to commercial production
Visa Direct ran two stablecoin pilots in 2025 before this commercial step. A prefunding pilot began in September 2025, initially with USDC and EURC, exploring clients supplying stablecoins to back their Visa Direct activity, while a payout pilot tested in November explored settling funds to recipients on stablecoin rails, The Block reported. In August 2026, Visa said it was working with zerohash as the technology and regulatory infrastructure provider for stablecoin funding and payouts. The new production deployment builds on that groundwork rather than starting from scratch.
B2B infrastructure, not a consumer product
This is payment plumbing, not a product consumers will see directly. The change alters how payment businesses fund payouts behind the scenes: prefunding with USDC can clear in near real time and around the clock, while traditional funding windows still bind clients to banking hours and cutoff times. Visa said it is working with clients and partners to bring stablecoin-enabled capabilities to more money-movement use cases, but did not name additional enablers or give a timeline, and the announcement states no expected volumes, so the commercial scale of the launch remains undisclosed.
