Nasdaq Approves Listing of Canary Staked INJ ETF Under Ticker INJC

By MABOnChain Desk · Published · Updated · 4 min read

Editorial digital-art illustration in the CoinTelegraph style: a grand stock exchange trading floor with a giant glowing ticker board and a large rising candlestick chart, a sleek futuristic blockchain network of glowing nodes and coins flowing toward a ceremonial exchange bell, dramatic comic-book ink shading, halftone dots, deep navy and charcoal tones with gold and teal neon highlights, 16:9 wide composition.

Published November 5, 2026, 2:50 AM PKT. Based on the Form 8-A12B filing as reported by ChainCatcher via KuCoin on November 4, 2026 (primary source), CryptoCycleIndex's November 4, 2026 report (secondary source), and Crypto Briefing's October 30, 2026 filing analysis (secondary source).

Nasdaq has approved the listing application for Canary Capital's staked Injective ($INJ) exchange traded fund, which will trade under the ticker INJC, according to a Form 8-A12B filing reported on November 4, 2026. The filing states that the fund's application for listing on Nasdaq has been approved, ChainCatcher reported via KuCoin, with the report published at 7:03 PM UTC on November 4. The fund intends to allocate at least 90% of its Injective ($INJ) to network staking under normal circumstances, with BitGo serving as custodian. Public trading will begin only after the fund's S-1 registration statement becomes effective, so investors cannot buy INJC shares yet, and no trading start date has been set. The approval still matters because it clears the exchange listing step for what would be the first staked Injective ($INJ) fund in the United States, Crypto Briefing reported, moving a product first filed in July 2025 closer to a regulated brokerage account wrapper for staking rewards.

Listing approval is not a trading launch

The distinction between the two approvals is the most important detail in the filing. Nasdaq's approval covers listing the shares on the exchange, while the Securities and Exchange Commission must still make the S-1 registration statement effective before trading can commence, KuCoin's report of the filing states. CryptoCycleIndex, reporting the same approval at 8:49 PM UTC on November 4, put it the same way: Nasdaq approved the listing of the proposed fund, which would lock at least 90% of its Injective ($INJ) holdings to earn rewards. TronWeekly also cautioned that listing approval should not be confused with the actual start of trading, and that the launch and subsequent investor participation remain the developments to monitor. The path to this point has been long: Canary first filed an S-1 registration statement in July 2025, Crypto Briefing reported, and its fourth amendment landed on October 23, 2026, moving the intended exchange to Nasdaq. An earlier amendment had named a different exchange, and the October 23 amendment names The Nasdaq Stock Market LLC, according to a filing summary. The fund's shares would not be registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, so shareholders would not get that law's protections, a filing summary noted.

The 90 percent staking plan and the 1.10 percent fee

Under the plan described in the filings, the fund would hold Injective ($INJ), the native token of the Injective network, and stake at least 90% of it through third party staking providers rather than operating its own validator, according to Crypto Briefing and Injective's own explanation of the structure. The fund would keep the remainder unstaked so it can meet creations and redemptions without waiting through the network's 21 day unbonding period, Injective said, during which tokens cannot be moved and do not earn rewards. Staking rewards are not guaranteed and may vary over time, Injective's explanation said, and the share of Injective ($INJ) staked by the fund can change. The fund would charge a 1.10% annual sponsor fee, CryptoCycleIndex and Crypto Briefing both reported, and 30% of staking rewards would be allocated to fees, according to Crypto Briefing's reading of the amended S-1. The Injective Foundation has committed to an initial seed purchase of up to $15 million in ETF shares, paid in Injective ($INJ) rather than dollars, Crypto Briefing reported. A background note in the filing materials described an approximately 6.8% annualized reward rate under September 15, 2026 assumptions, after community tax, validator commission and observed block timing, though that figure is an assumption, not a promised return.

Injective rose on the headline

Injective ($INJ) traded at $7.83, up 8.83% over 24 hours, in a snapshot taken at 8:15 PM UTC on November 4, according to Token Times market data. TronWeekly reported that Injective ($INJ) had recovered above $7.30 as the listing approval headlines circulated, and a CoinDesk market update earlier on November 4 had already flagged Injective ($INJ) up 6.2% as a leader of a decentralized finance rebound, so the token was rising before the Nasdaq headline and extended the move after it. The percentages differ across outlets because each snapshot was taken at a different hour. What comes next is now a regulatory question, not an exchange question: the fund needs an effective S-1, and only then will a trading date, an opening price and early fund flows show how much demand exists for regulated, staked Injective ($INJ) exposure through a brokerage account rather than a crypto wallet.

November 4, 2026 · 5 min read

Official Trump ($TRUMP) fell about 12.6% in 24 hours to $1.39 on November 4, 2026, as Democrats swept both chambers of Congress in the U.S. midterm elections, making the president's memecoin one of the day's biggest losers while the broader crypto market rebounded. CoinGecko data captured at 4:51 PM UTC put the token at $1.39, down 16.3% over seven days, with a market value of about $392 million and 24 hour trading volume of about $214 million. At $1.39 the token sat just above its all time low of $1.37 set August 13, 2026, and about 98% below its all time high of $73.43 from January 19, 2025. Melania ($MELANIA) and World Liberty Financial ($WLFI) also fell, while Bitcoin ($BTC) recovered from its election night dip.

Hong Kong Passes Crypto Tax Reporting Law, Adopting OECD Framework From 2027

November 4, 2026 · 5 min read

Hong Kong's Legislative Council passed the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework and Amended Common Reporting Standard) Bill 2026 on November 4, 2026, adopting the OECD's Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework for crypto tax reporting. Crypto service providers must collect customer and transaction information from 2027, with the Inland Revenue Department exchanging that information with partner jurisdictions starting in 2028, while the amended Common Reporting Standard takes effect in 2028 with first exchanges in 2029. The law creates no new crypto tax, it creates reporting: exchanges, brokers, dealers and certain crypto ATM operators face registration, due diligence, recordkeeping and reporting duties, and the government says exchanges will run on a reciprocal basis with data confidentiality and security as a premise.

Circle Reports $865 Million Q3 Revenue, Highlighting Binance $100 Million Investment and USDC Growth

November 4, 2026 · 6 min read

Circle Internet Group reported third quarter 2026 total revenue and reserve income of $865 million, up 17 percent from a year earlier, with net income from continuing operations of $226 million and adjusted EBITDA of $317 million, in results announced November 4, 2026. The headline growth was powered by a $182 million presale of ARC ($ARC), the token for Circle's new Arc blockchain, while core reserve income fell 8 percent to $658 million as the return on reserves slipped. The release also highlighted Binance's $100 million equity investment in Circle and a renewed and expanded partnership to promote USD Coin ($USDC) across Binance's global platform, with an emphasis on emerging markets, alongside $13.9 trillion in USDC onchain transaction volume in the quarter, up 49 percent year over year.

Judge Says CFTC Likely Lacked Authority Over Kalshi Stock Perps, But Lets Trading Continue

November 4, 2026 · 6 min read

U.S. District Judge Valerie Caproni ruled on November 3, 2026 that the Capital Markets Alliance is likely to prove the Commodity Futures Trading Commission lacked authority to approve perpetual futures on individual stocks, writing that the contracts appear to be swaps under the Securities and Exchange Commission, not security futures. She still denied the group's emergency bid to block the contracts, because it had not shown harm that was actual and imminent, so Kalshi's four stock perpetuals, on Qualcomm, McDonald's, Amgen and Costco, kept trading, with about $7.85 million in combined 24 hour volume as of the morning of November 4. The CFTC must answer the group's preliminary injunction request by November 6, with the group's reply due November 10, a schedule that could halt the contracts within weeks of launch.
