Crypto Casino Gamdom Goes Offline as $4.2M Drains From Its Hot Wallets
Published October 15, 2026, 01:42 UTC. Based on Gamdom's statement posted on X on October 14, 2026; on-chain tracker data from FairGambling reported by iGaming Republic on October 14, 2026; and a report by wisevoter on October 15, 2026 that includes information reported by TokenPost.
Gamdom, one of the largest crypto casinos, took its entire platform offline on the evening of October 13, 2026, after finding an unauthorized connection on one of its automation servers. The company disclosed the incident in a statement posted on X early on October 14, saying players cannot reach their balances for as long as the site stays down, while also telling users that "user funds are safe."
The disk alarm that turned serious
Gamdom said staff were checking a suspected disk failure on one server when they found the unauthorized connection on a separate automation server, according to its statement quoted by iGaming Republic. "Approximately 24 hours ago, we detected a potential disk failure on one of our servers. During our investigation, we identified an unauthorized connection on one of our automation servers, which prompted further investigation," the company said. That puts the first alert early on October 13.
As a precaution, Gamdom then switched off every system it runs. "As a precautionary measure, we made the difficult decision to take all of our systems offline in order to fully assess the situation and protect our users," the statement said. The casino confirmed that "user funds are safe" and urged players to have patience while it works to "restore services as quickly and securely as possible."
Gamdom has not confirmed that a hack took place or that any funds were lost, and its statement gives no timeline for reopening. It has also not said what the automation server does, what the connection reached, or whether player data was exposed.
Five chains, one hour
Independent tracker FairGambling, quoted by iGaming Republic, spotted more than $2.3 million leaving Gamdom's hot wallets between about 15:50 and 16:50 UTC on October 13. Each hot wallet on Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain, Tron and the XRP Ledger made a large payment to a single wallet on the same chain, and at least four of the five receiving wallets had never been used before, according to the tracker.
FairGambling's data put Gamdom's tracked hot-wallet holdings at $10.5 million on October 12 and about $76,000 a day later. The tracker noted that on-chain outflows alone do not prove theft, since operators routinely move funds to cold storage, and the data cannot show who controls the receiving wallets. Gamdom posted its short message on X at 18:45 UTC on October 13, about two hours after the outflows, giving no reason for the shutdown.
Gamdom has not said whether it authorized the transfers, and its statement does not connect them to the unauthorized connection.
The DAI swap
FairGambling reported that the Ethereum receiving wallet took in about $1.2 million and converted its USDT and USDC into DAI within minutes. Tether and Circle can freeze their tokens, while DAI has no built-in freeze function. By 01:35 UTC on October 14, two of the receiving Ethereum wallets held about $2 million between them, mostly in DAI, the tracker said.
A second report, by wisevoter on October 15 that includes information reported by TokenPost, puts the total loss at $4.2 million across eight network labels: $2.2 million from EVM networks, $965,000 from Solana, $375,000 from TRON, and $668,000 from Bitcoin.
Three scares in three months
Gamdom is one of the sector's biggest brands. FairGambling's data for August 31 to September 6 ranked it fourth among crypto casinos for both on-chain deposits, at $55.5 million, and wagers, at $534.3 million.
The incident follows a run of scares across crypto gambling. Duelbits lost about $7 million from its hot wallets in September, a loss co-founder Joe confirmed on September 24, according to iGaming Republic. The site reopened on September 27 with about $8 million across hot and cold wallets. It was Duelbits' second breach after a $4.6 million drain in February 2024, and it has not published a root cause. Monitoring service Scam Sniffer flagged a suspected private-key compromise.
In August, Rollbit's tracked hot wallets fell 97% in a week, from $29.2 million to about $765,000, according to FairGambling. Staff said the casino was moving funds onto new chains, withdrawals kept processing, and no hack was confirmed. The best-known hacking case remains Stake: the FBI blamed North Korea's Lazarus Group for the theft of about $41 million from its hot wallets in September 2023.

VanEck Withdraws Lido Staked ETH ETF Filing, Shelving the First U.S. stETH Fund
VanEck filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on October 14, 2026 to withdraw the registration statement for its proposed VanEck Lido Staked ETH ETF, the first American fund tied to Lido's stETH liquid staking token. The firm confirmed that no shares were ever issued and none will be, and gave no reason for killing the product, which would have given investors brokerage-account exposure to Ethereum staking rewards. The original S-1 filing followed the registration of a Delaware statutory trust in early October 2025, and Lido's LDO governance token rallied about 7% when the filing surfaced. Lido's total value locked sat near $38 billion to $40 billion at the time of the filing, with more than $2 billion in cumulative staking rewards distributed since launch.
