Sui Pushes $500M Hashi Bitcoin Rollout Toward Mainnet as Daily Transactions Top 13 Million

Editorial digital-art illustration in the CoinTelegraph style: a massive glowing orange Bitcoin coin with a brass vault door cracked open at its base emitting golden light, glowing orange bitcoin cubes streaming out and transforming into a flowing turquoise-blue blockchain river shaped around the Sui droplet motif, more than twenty glowing partner-node cubes orbiting above like a constellation, a luminous data ribbon reading 13.1M DAILY TRANSACTIONS, deep navy background with gold and cyan highlights, dramatic rim lighting, cinematic 16:9 wide composition.

Sui's big Bitcoin bet is moving toward production. The Hashi coalition has committed more than $500 million to its Sui-based protocol ahead of a phased mainnet rollout planned for later in October, TokenPost reported on October 17, 2026, with more than 20 partners backing the effort to put idle Bitcoin to work in decentralized finance. SUI traded at about $0.98 on Binance at publication time, down 3.29% over 24 hours on roughly $32.8 million in spot volume, according to Binance public market data, with an intraday high of $1.0197 and a low of $0.9528.

The $500 million Hashi mainnet push

The headline figure is committed capital, not coins already deposited. TokenPost reported that the coalition backing Hashi's Sui-based protocol has now pledged more than $500 million, and that the figure does not show how much Bitcoin has actually been deposited so far. Hashi plans to bring its mainnet online in stages, TokenPost said, though no exact launch date has been announced. The coalition includes more than 20 partners, according to the report. The rollout follows Hashi's earlier testnet phase and a steady buildup of partners through the month. On-chain watcher activity backs the urgency: the Sui network processed 13.1 million transactions and recorded 157,000 unique daily senders on October 15, TokenPost separately reported on October 17, and a network snapshot that day showed throughput of 91.72 transactions per second with 330,000 transactions in the prior hour and 5.06 billion cumulative transactions.

How the Bitcoin vaults work

The design keeps Bitcoin itself on the Bitcoin blockchain. TokenPost described the flow: users send BTC to an address managed by Hashi, and after the Bitcoin network confirms the deposit, Hashi creates a Sui-side representation of that Bitcoin for use in Sui applications. Withdrawals burn the Sui-side representation before the original BTC is returned to a Bitcoin address. No single operator can move the funds alone, because Hashi's committee shares control of the keys. Pluang, in its own October 17 coverage, noted that the network's contracts maintain cryptographic links to Bitcoin so security stays anchored to the Bitcoin blockchain rather than replacing it, and said Sui had introduced Agent Payments, a system that lets autonomous agents pay Alibaba Cloud services in USDC with preset spending limits. That builds on Sui's Alibaba Cloud cooperation announced October 7, which would let users set budgets for AI agents to buy cloud and AI capacity through the payments system, TokenPost noted, adding that no launch date or usage figures were disclosed for the cloud service.

Slush adds Halliday funding from 25 chains

The Sui wallet ecosystem is widening its on-ramp at the same time. The Slush wallet has integrated Halliday, allowing users to fund accounts with tokens from 25 blockchains or through payment methods including bank cards, bank transfers and Apple Pay, according to an October 17 post from a verified Binance official account on Binance Square citing Odaily. The post said Sui announced on X that users can receive SUI or USDC in Slush and tap "Buy" to start. The integration targets the same friction Hashi is trying to solve for institutions: cryptonews.net, republishing coinfomania's October 17 report, wrote that the Hashi protocol is designed to eliminate barriers that have previously hindered institutional participation, enhancing trust and efficiency in the process.

Price holds near $1 with launch in sight

SUI's price action has stayed contained while the catalysts stack up. Binance data showed the token changing hands at $0.982, down 3.29% over 24 hours, with the day's $1.0197 high and $0.9528 low framing a tight range on $32.8 million of quote volume. blockchain.news's October 17 analysis put the coin at $1.01 on Binance spot, down 3.13% over its measured 24-hour window on $41.2 million of volume, with the middle Bollinger Band (20-day SMA) at $1.11, the lower band at $0.98 and the upper band at $1.25, and SUI trading below its 7-day SMA of $1.04, EMA 12 of $1.06 and EMA 26 of $1.05, though above the 50-day SMA at $0.95 and the 200-day SMA at $0.86. The token sits roughly two weeks out from Hashi's expected mainnet window, with the exact date still unannounced.
