StandX Shuts Down Perpetuals Exchange, Cancels Token Launch, and Airdrops DUSD to 237,000 Users
Published October 15, 2026, 09:07 UTC. Based on StandX's announcement and reporting by PANews, Cointime, CryptoAdventure and CryptoCycleIndex.
Decentralized perpetual futures exchange StandX said on October 15, 2026 it will gradually wind down its trading and stablecoin operations and has canceled plans to issue a native token, opting instead for a one-time airdrop of its DUSD stablecoin to the community, according to the company's announcement as reported by PANews and Cointime. The decision followed a strategic assessment of the platform's business and market conditions.
237,000 users and a $200 million TVL peak
StandX said it has served more than 237,000 users since its mainnet launch in November 2025, offering perpetual futures trading across BNB Chain and Solana alongside a yield-bearing stablecoin, according to CryptoAdventure. The platform's total value locked once exceeded $200 million, built without any external venture capital backing, and the team says it suffered no security incidents during its operational history, according to Cointime. StandX also claims to have been the first perpetuals DEX to run a rewards program for community market makers.
Why the token launch is off
Co-founder AG.stand, identified by CryptoCycleIndex as former Binance Futures head Aaron Gong, said the project had failed to reach its goal of becoming one of the industry's three largest perpetual trading platforms, according to PANews. He argued that issuing a token without a sustainable long-term business would shift the cost of short-term speculation onto users and the community. Rather than proceed with a token generation event, StandX will distribute all remaining project revenue, plus additional funds contributed personally by the team, through the existing DUSD stablecoin, with no lockups or vesting, so recipients can freely transfer, trade or redeem their allocations.
The wind-down timeline
All yields stopped and new treasury deposits closed on October 15, 2026, according to the announcement. From October 20, perpetual contracts will be set to reduce-only mode. An eligibility checker opens October 26, 2026 at 00:00 UTC, letting users review allocations based on pre-deposits, Alpha activity, mainnet trading, market making and referrals. Claims run from November 1 at 00:00 UTC to December 31 at 08:00 UTC using the BNB Chain or Solana wallet addresses users traded with, with anti-Sybil and wash-trading screening, and unclaimed allocations are forfeited. On January 15, 2027, all remaining open positions will be closed at the mark price, and DUSD redemption and asset withdrawals end January 31, 2027. The team said user funds are safe and DUSD remains fully collateralized, according to PANews.
