Pons Rebounds 15% as Rumors of a $100 Million Robinhood Chain Grant Program Circulate

Published October 14, 2026, 16:55 UTC. Based on CoinGecko market data and AMBCrypto price tracking dated October 14, 2026, a Cointime flash report citing GMGN market data dated October 14, 2026, and Ainvest and bitcoinfoundation.org reporting from September and October 2026.

Pons, the native token of the dominant token launchpad on Robinhood Chain, is climbing again. PONS traded around $0.353 on October 14, up roughly 15% in 24 hours, according to CoinGecko data, with the token's market capitalization climbing back to about $238 million. The rally came as unverified rumors circulated that Robinhood plans to launch a grant program of more than $100 million for builders on its chain. The speculation drew buyers into Robinhood Chain ecosystem tokens across the board, according to a Cointime flash report citing GMGN market data.

A Tenev post and a KOL claim light the fire

The rumors started with Robinhood chief executive Vlad Tenev. Writing on X the previous day, Tenev said the company wants "the best builders on the Robinhood chain" and that it is "investing to make this a reality," adding that more details would be announced soon, according to Cointime. The post then picked up a sharper claim: crypto commentator @rickytheirish said Robinhood Chain would launch a grant program exceeding $100 million aimed at ecosystem builders. Cointime reports that ecosystem tokens rebounded after the claim spread. Alongside PONS, Artificial Inu gained about 21%, BUN rose about 17%, and smaller tokens including PRIORS and Index also posted significant rebounds, according to the GMGN data cited in the report. Robinhood has not confirmed any grant program, and Cointime cautioned that on-chain token prices are highly volatile.

Still 64% below its September all-time high

Today's move is a rebound, not a breakout. PONS peaked at $0.971 on September 5, according to CoinGecko, meaning the token is still down about 64% from its all-time high despite the day's gains. The drawdown followed a familiar pattern: PONS rallied after crypto exchange Kraken listed the token on September 25, but the listing could not hold the price up, bitcoinfoundation.org reported this week, with the token falling roughly 70% from its peak. AMBCrypto's tracking shows PONS still holds 24-hour trading volume near $75 million, a sign that liquidity has not dried up, though the 30-day price trend remains negative at roughly 41% down. The token's circulating supply sits at about 675.5 million PONS out of a 1 billion maximum, CoinGecko shows.

Uniswap Labs bought the winner

The launchpad's appeal is rooted in revenue. Pons runs a bonding-curve token launcher on Robinhood Chain whose graduated tokens feed directly into Uniswap V4 liquidity pools. In early September, Uniswap Labs acquired PONS tokens for what it described as long-term alignment, according to multiple Ainvest reports, and the announcement sent the token up about 41% to a then record near $0.75. Ainvest described the sequence as Uniswap's own Pools.trade launchpad losing to Pons by more than 100 to 1 in daily fees before Uniswap bought a ticket on the winner. Ainvest reported that the platform captured about two-thirds of launchpad fees on Robinhood Chain and had out-earned Solana's pump.fun in daily fees every day since late August.

80% of revenue feeds the buyback machine

The tokenomics matter more than the hype. Pons directs roughly 80% of its protocol revenue into buying back and burning PONS tokens, Ainvest reported, a deflationary loop that ties the token's value directly to platform activity. That burn has already destroyed about 29% of the 1 billion token maximum supply, according to Ainvest. In September, the protocol generated about $19.64 million in earnings, with roughly $13.82 million channeled into buybacks, Ainvest reported in a separate piece. A Binance Square creator noted in early October that the platform's 24-hour revenue had recently topped $1.84 million, surpassing pump.fun's $1.18 million. The structure means a grant-fueled builder boom on Robinhood Chain would, in theory, flow straight through launchpad volume into token burns, a narrative that helps explain why grant rumors move PONS first.

A rumor is not a plan

The caution is that none of this is confirmed. Tenev's post promised investment without specifics, and the $100 million figure comes from a KOL claim, not a Robinhood announcement. The chain itself is cooling from its memecoin summer: new token launches are down roughly 70% and fees are down nearly 80% since September, a Binance Square creator wrote last week, even as Pons held its position as the platform's top fee generator. A confirmed grant program would be a real catalyst for builder activity. Until then, PONS is trading on the hope of one, with the token still well below the prices investors paid at the September top.
