21shares Launches Europe's First Pre-IPO Anthropic ETP on Vienna Exchange

Retail investors in Europe can now trade Anthropic's private-market valuation like a stock. On October 13, 2026, 21shares announced the launch of the 21shares Anthropic Synthetic ETP, ticker CLAU, on the Vienna MTF operated by Wiener Borse. The company called it Europe's first exchange-traded product offering continuous, unleveraged exposure to the implied valuation of Anthropic, the AI company behind Claude, ahead of its anticipated initial public offering. The ETP holds no Anthropic shares and gives no ownership rights in the company.
The first ticket: CLAU on Vienna's MTF
The listing facts are fixed in the announcement. CLAU trades in euros on the Vienna MTF under ISIN CH1606386675, with a total expense ratio of 1.00% and a 2.00% exit fee, and the issuer is 21shares x FalconX Limited. The product's inception date is October 13, 2026, the same day as the announcement. 21shares is pitching it as a bridge between public markets and the AI capital boom: the company said investors can obtain economic exposure to Anthropic's implied valuation through the ETP structure as easily as any stock or index ETF.
"We are taking the structural tools developed in digital assets and applying them to alternative and multi-asset investing," said Duncan Moir, 21shares' President and Chief Investment Officer, in the announcement. He said private companies absorb capital faster than almost any sector in history, which creates what he called a growing access problem for traditional investors.
A total-return swap on an index that tracks Binance perps
The exposure is synthetic, and the mechanics are spelled out in unusual detail. The product's economic return comes through total return swaps on the Kaiko Anthropic USD Reference Rate (USDT) (London) index. Kaiko calculates the daily reference price from Binance's Anthropic perpetual futures, and the swaps track the performance of those futures with no leverage, according to the announcement.
21shares explained the plumbing in its own pre-IPO ETP guide: the ETP holds notes issued by FalconX Group, which acts as the counterparty and manages the underlying exposure through perpetual futures contracts traded on Binance and Hyperliquid. Perpetuals were chosen because pre-IPO assets have no liquid spot market and no expiring contract to roll, the guide said. Kaiko's managing director for indices and analytics data, Anne-Claire Maurice, said in the announcement that the firm provides "an objective, transparent reference price for Anthropic's implied valuation, based on real pre-ipo trading activity on perpetual markets," so the product's net asset value rests on an independent benchmark rather than an issuer quote.
The 21shares x FalconX SPV
CLAU is also the debut product of a new issuance machine. 21shares said it created a dedicated special purpose vehicle, 21shares x FalconX Limited, as a standalone structure to issue synthetic exposure, combining its own ETP structuring with FalconX's prime brokerage balance sheet, multi-venue execution and derivatives desk. The company described it as a repeatable pipeline for pre-IPO exposure, multi-asset strategies and yield-bearing derivative structures.
Austin Reid, FalconX's Chief Commercial and Strategy Officer, said investors want access to the segments that matter most and called the launch the latest example of differentiated products giving investors the exposure they ask for. The fine print clarifies the structure: FalconX appears in the issuer's name for branding purposes only, no FalconX entity is an issuer, co-issuer, guarantor or obligor of the securities, and investors have no recourse to FalconX. FalconX acts only as the contract, liquidity and hedging counterparty. 21shares also discloses that it is a wholly owned FalconX subsidiary, which it says may give rise to conflicts of interest described in the base prospectus.
The fine print: 1% a year, 2% to exit, no US buyers
The prospectus-level caveats are extensive. The product is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, and it provides no direct exposure to Anthropic shares either before or after an IPO. The securities are not registered under the U.S. Securities Act and are not for distribution in the United States, Canada, Australia or Japan; in Switzerland and the United Kingdom the product is available only to professional investors. 21shares notes that the prospectus was approved under the EU Prospectus Regulation, which should not be read as an endorsement of the securities, and it warns that the product is not simple and may be difficult to understand.

MediaMarkt Pulls All Ledger Products From European Stores After Tampered Wallets Surface in Germany
MediaMarktSaturn has removed all Ledger hardware wallets from its physical stores and online platforms in every country where it operates, telling Cointelegraph on October 13, 2026 that the move was precautionary, after a German customer reported finding a hardware implant in a Ledger device. Ledger said it suspended sales in coordination with the retailer, reported no fund losses in that case, and said it is investigating reports of tampered wallets beyond the CryptoBilis reseller case.
Ledger's Donjon Reveals How the Hidden Implants Read Recovery Phrases and Phoned Them Home Over LTE
On October 13, 2026, Ledger's Donjon security team said the unauthorized implants found in devices sold by CryptoBilis read the 24-word recovery phrase off the device's screen during setup and transmitted it over LTE using a provisioned eSIM, without touching the Secure Element or altering transactions. Ledger has not confirmed a drain tied to a device bought elsewhere and is reviewing implant reports from other locations, including two devices bought from MediaMarkt stores in Europe.
